Supervisor of Early Childhood Education

The Supervisor of Early Childhood Education is responsible for oversight of the Early Childhood Program under the direction of the Director of Early Childhood. The Supervisor of Early Childhood Education collaborates with administration to provide coaching to teachers and parents.

Family Advocates

A Family Advocate is provided by the learning center to work with families enrolled in the program. The role of the family advocate is: 
  • To direct and/or coordinate available community resources, including health and nutrition services, social services, and parent involvement. 
  • Provide families with necessary information and skills regarding health and social concerns. 
  • To maintain accurate records of student attendance/lateness and design plans for improvement when necessary. 
  • Collaborate with Community and Parent Involvement Specialist to offer parent workshops.

The CPIS Coordinates with the Early Childhood Advisory Council, community events, recruitment and outreach, and parent workshop throughout the district

Master Teachers 

Master Teachers support all of the classroom teachers by coaching, modeling Tools of the Mind activities, assessing classroom practices, and providing professional development. They are assigned at 1:20 ratio, as per NJAC 6A:13A.

Preschool Intervention and Referral Team

PIRT members assist teachers by providing strategies for specific students who may be exhibiting difficulties in the classroom. They also provide professional development in the area of classroom management using Positive Behavior Support (PBS). They are assigned at a 1:20 ratio, as per NJAC 6A:13A. 

Nurses 

Nurses conduct screening for immunizations, vision and hearing. Provides physical and emotional support to students and staff when there are injuries or illnesses. The ECE program has two dedicated nurses.
