 The School Choice Program

Hoboken High School is soaring to new heights. The nationally recognized Project Lead the Way STEM Learning Program with pathways in Biomedical Science, Engineering, and Computer Science will now be a specialized academy at Hoboken High School and the School Choice offering to students entering 9th grade. PLTW has excited our students and has encouraged new learning. Our School Choice Program is designated for students with an interest and aptitude for STEM Learning. School Choice applicants must possess two years of Mathematics and Science grades of a B or higher in both content areas, and must show proficiency in Mathematics and ELA on either the NJSLA or any other standardized assessment.

This highly specialized program, sponsored by Project Lead the Way, offers pathways in Biomedical Science, Engineering, Computer Science, and Aviation. School Choice is now only open to those interested in one of these three pathways. Each pathway includes a series of coursework which is required for graduation, as well as internship placement, and enrollment in both the AP Capstone Program and AP Plus Project Lead the Way courses. In addition to enrollment in the Project Lead the Way Program, Hoboken High School students participate in a Personal Growth Period. This period enables students to take SAT Prep classes, attend lectures and seminars, participate in book groups, compete in physical competitions, visit with college and university admissions counselors, and much more. In addition to the wide array of Advanced Placement courses offered during the school day, Hoboken High School students may also take on-line courses and enroll in the Pre-Medical Honors Program offered by Rutgers University.

Hoboken Public School District will continue to be a School Choice District for the 2026-2027 school year. If you are interested in participating in the program, please follow the steps below and submit your application no later than November 24, 2025.
