Hoboken High School Senior Addison Rumph Accepted to Prestigious United States Naval Academy 


Student Leader, Multi-Sport Captain, and Honor Roll Scholar Earns Appointment to One of the Nation’s Most Prestigious Service Academies


Hoboken, NJ, —May 9, 2026,  Hoboken High School proudly announces that senior Addison Rumph has accepted an appointment to attend the prestigious United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland this fall.

Rumph’s appointment to the academy reflects years of academic excellence, leadership, athletic achievement, and dedication to service. Ranked in the top 12% of her class, she has earned an impressive 4.2 GPA while balancing a rigorous academic schedule with extensive extracurricular involvement.

Throughout her time at Hoboken High School, Rumph has demonstrated exceptional leadership across the school community. She currently serves as president of the Math Club and the Senior Class Council in Student Government, while also contributing as a member of the Athletic Committee, National Honor Society, and Yearbook Club.

In addition to her academic and leadership accomplishments, Rumph has made a significant impact in athletics. She is a captain of both the indoor track and girls lacrosse teams, competes on the cross country and flag football teams, and serves as the manager for the soccer team. Outside of school, she competes year-round with Evolution Lacrosse Academy and volunteers her time coaching youth soccer and lacrosse players in the community.

Rumph has also earned numerous athletic honors during her high school career, including Second Team All-League recognition in girls lacrosse in both 2023 and 2025. She has received the program’s Best Defender Award every year since 2023, a distinction voted on by her coaches. Additionally, she earned the Hoboken High School Honor Award last year and will receive the Ambassador Award this year in recognition of her character, leadership, and representation of the school community.

“Attending the Naval Academy is truly an honor,” said Rumph. “I’m excited to continue challenging myself academically and athletically while preparing to serve something greater than myself. I’m thankful for my family, coaches, teachers, teammates, and everyone at Hoboken High School who supported me along the way."

The United States Naval Academy, located in Annapolis, Maryland, is one of the nation’s most selective service academies, preparing future leaders for service in the United States Navy and Marine Corps.
