Hoboken Public School District Embarks on Development of Strategic Plan with Visionary “Portrait of a Graduate” Initiative and Updating of Long Range Facilities Plan
Hoboken, NJ — April 9, 2025 - The Hoboken Board of Education is calling on all members of the community to participate in a critical survey designed to shape the future of the Hoboken Public School District. As the district embarks on the development of its next 5-Year Strategic Plan, community input will play a key role in guiding decisions that will impact students, families, and staff for years to come.
The new Strategic Plan will serve as a roadmap for the district, focusing on revising the vision and mission statements while setting ambitious and forward-thinking strategic goals. Two of these goals will be particularly significant:
- The Portrait of a Hoboken High School Graduate – defining the skills and attributes students should possess upon graduation.
- A Long-Range Facilities Plan – ensuring that district facilities support educational excellence and long-term student success.
To ensure that the plan reflects the needs and aspirations of the community, the Board of Education has surveyed district staff and families. It is now seeking input from the community-at-large. This survey is designed to collect feedback on key priorities, with questions that allow participants to respond to areas most relevant to them. Depending on the number of open-ended responses provided, the survey will take approximately 15 to 30 minutes to complete.
The deadline to complete and submit the survey is Monday, May 5, 2025. We ask that all participants submit one response.
“We are committed to ensuring that our strategic plan reflects the collective vision of our community,” said Board President Ailene McGuirk. “We encourage all stakeholders to take the time to share their thoughts and help shape the future of the Hoboken Public School District.”
The survey is a vital step in the district’s planning process, which also includes community meetings and focus groups. Every voice matters, and the Board of Education is eager to hear from all members of the Hoboken community.
