Washington, D.C., (Tuesday, May 26, 2026) —The Hoboken High School Rockin’ Redwings proudly returned to Washington, D.C. to perform in the 2026 National Memorial Day Parade, hosted by Freedom 250 and the American Veterans Center. This year marked the ensemble’s fourth appearance in the nation’s largest Memorial Day tribute honoring America’s fallen heroes.

Performing along historic Constitution Avenue, the Rockin’ Redwings joined distinguished marching bands, veterans’ organizations, active‑duty service members, and Gold Star families from across the United States. Their performance was broadcast nationwide, showcasing the pride, precision, and musical excellence that define Hoboken High School’s award‑winning ensemble.

“This fourth appearance in Washington, D.C. was a profound moment for our school community,” said Principal Robin Piccapietra. “Our students carried themselves with dignity, discipline, and heart. They honored the meaning of Memorial Day while representing Hoboken with the highest level of pride. Watching them perform on a national stage reminded us of what young people can achieve when they are supported, inspired, and committed to excellence.”

In the months leading up to the parade, the Rockin’ Redwings dedicated extensive time to rehearsals, sectional practices, and community performances. Their preparation reflected the district’s strong investment in arts education and its belief that music serves as a powerful connection between generations and a meaningful tribute to those who served.

During parade weekend, students also participated in educational programming coordinated by the American Veterans Center, where they engaged directly with veterans and heard stories of service, sacrifice, and resilience. These experiences deepened the significance of their performance and strengthened their understanding of the national tradition they were invited to uphold.

The Hoboken Public School District celebrated the Rockin’ Redwings as ambassadors of both the school and the City of Hoboken. Their continued selection for this prestigious event underscored the ensemble’s reputation for excellence and the district’s commitment to providing transformative opportunities for its students.
