Hoboken High School Students Earn National Awards for Community Service Impact

United Nations Association of the USA Recognizes Youth Leaders Delivering Progress Toward the Global Goals

Hoboken, NJ – May 19, 2025 – Hoboken High School proudly announces that 58 students have been honored by the United Nations Association of the USA (UNA-USA) and InnerView in the 8th Annual Community Service Impact Awards. This prestigious program recognizes students nationwide who demonstrate meaningful contributions to their communities while advancing the United Nations’ Global Goals for Sustainable Development.

The awards also include the Zero Hero Awards, presented by The Kroger Co. for the sixth consecutive year, recognizing students who have taken significant action toward eliminating hunger and waste in their communities.

“The Global Goals provide a framework for addressing the world’s most pressing challenges. Youth play a pivotal role in driving change forward, now more than ever,” said Rachel Bowen Pittman, Executive Director of UNA-USA. “We are thrilled to partner with InnerView again this year and celebrate the impact youth have made in advancing the Global Goals. Congratulations to this year’s awardees for their dedication and inspired action.”

Hoboken High School has been awarded the Emerald School Impact Award for contributing over 6,038 hours of community service this school year—three times the benchmark for school recognition. Student efforts were especially impactful in the area of Quality Education, reflecting the school’s continued emphasis on civic engagement and equity.
