As the year winds down the G&T students continue to be actively engaged in learning new concepts. The second graders recently read Jack and the Beanstalk and created a parachute to help Jack safely escape from the Giant. The third graders learned about threatened animals and the reasons behind their endangerment. Fourth and fifth grade students have been traveling the US and the world, respectively, learning about different states and countries. They are also experiencing some amazing places firsthand through Google Cardboard. Finally, the sixth graders have been researching community issues to develop a public policy by following a series of guided steps.
Wallace School is very proud of 6th graders Hudson Matullo and Sanjna Samrai! Their idea, the Disposable Storm Drain Screen, was one of 16 inventions selected to compete from over 120 inventions! Although they didn’t advance to the STEAM Tank finals they did an excellent job presenting their idea at the STEAM Tank Regional competition at NJIT. Way to go girls!
