Program Philosophy

The Hoboken Public School District recognizes that students who demonstrate extraordinary academic abilities must be provided the direction, time, encouragement, and resources that allow them to achieve in accordance with their academic abilities, curiosities and motivation levels. Our staff is committed to working with students and families to identify Gifted and Talented candidates, and to provide those students with an appropriately-modified educational experience designed to unlock their potential

Goals
  • To provide a unique and stimulating program that meets the personal and academic needs of gifted and talented students

  • Foster creativity and connections through an integrated, multidisciplinary approach to learning

  • To foster the development of higher order thinking, knowledge, comprehension, application, analysis, synthesis and evaluation

  • To emphasize metacognition, as well as learning outcomes and products

  • To balance self initiated learning and thinking with cooperative problem based learning

  • To expand upon students abilities and talents while encouraging self selected and interest based learning
