Hoboken High School National Honor Society leads Initiative for Specialized Children’s Hospital

The School Group leads the Redwing Community in a school wide effort.

Hoboken, NJ, — Thursday, February 3, 2022- On Friday, January 21, 2022 The Hoboken High School National Honor society hosted a school wide dressdown raising $472.91 for the National Network of Specialized Children's Hospitals.

The high school's National Honor Society was invited by Angelene Veloce, a student at Stevens Institute, to get involved with StevensTHON, an annual fundraiser supporting the hospitals. Angelene graduated from Hoboken High School Class of 2019, and is a former President of the school's chapter of the National Honor Society.

This was done through Stevens Institute of Technology annual StevensTHON. StevensTHON is a student-run organization and year-round philanthropic movement at Stevens Institute of Technology. Through their efforts, they raise money and awareness for the Children's Specialized Hospital, and our local Children's Miracle Network Hospital.

The Hoboken Redwings were ecstatic to donate money to the national network of Specialized Children's Hospital through StevensTHON.  The Hoboken HIgh School NHS  considered several ways to help, including the prospect of a mini-dance marathon here at Hoboken High School, but decided to put that idea on the back burner for a post-pandemic future date.

The National Honor Society had support for the entire Redwing Community and the Redwings Care Coalition.

Mrs. McGreivey, the advisor to the Arthur E. Stover Chapter of the National Honor Society, presented our donation to Angelene Veloce, HHS Class of 2019 alumna.
