Connors Students are Art Stars

Connors Students are Art Stars!
This spring, Mrs. Musella entered Connors students’ artwork in the annual CelebratingArt.com contest. This year, Connors had 30 winners selected to be published! Mrs. Musella has been entering this contest for the last 5 years and each year has proven very successful.

Thomas G. Connors is considered to be one of the top ranking schools in New Jersey for this contest. Not every entry is accepted to be published; only the best art is selected to be included in a full color hardbound art book. Being published represents a lot of talent, hard work and dedication, we are very proud of our students at Thomas G. Connors.

With an array of student levels, the students studied the life and artwork of famous artist Vincent Van Gogh and his use of line and color. Exploring his work, the students focused on some of his most famous pieces like Starry Night, Sunflowers, Irises and Poppies. The students explored different media such as oil pastels, paint, and chalk pastels and experimented with various techniques to create these beautiful landscapes and still life paintings.
